Distinguished Service Awards

Chief's Personal Award

Awarded to very few employees who possess an impeccable service record and are extremely determined, passionate, and dedicated. This can be shown by performing above and beyond the expectations asked of them. May only be issued by the Chief of EMS and Assistant Chief of EMS.

EMS Distinguished Service Ribbon

Awarded to medics who show consistently high standards, professional conduct, and diligent medical work during their day-to-day duties.

EMS Meritorious Achievement Ribbon

Awarded for performing a particularly noteworthy act in service to the department or the city.

Community Service Ribbon

Awarded to medics who consistently work for and with the community to keep relations at a high standard through consistently high standards of public service and core values.

Life Saving Award

Awarded for acting out of bravery and successfully resuscitating a clinically dead patient.

Purple Heart

Awarded to medics who, while serving in the line of duty, have been seriously injured.

The Fallen Ribbon

Awarded to previous/current medics that have unfortunately passed away.

Progressional Awards

Chief's Office Ribbon

Awarded to medics inducted into the Chief's Office team.

High Command Ribbon

Awarded to medics inducted into the High Command team.

Command Ribbon

Awarded to medics inducted into the Command team.

Supervisor Ribbon

Awarded to medics inducted into the Supervisor team.

Divisional Command Ribbon

Awarded to those who have shown exemplary work within a division, to a point where they received a divisional command spot.

Service Awards

Administrative Service Ribbon

Awarded to medics who show consistent activity and dedication to paperwork and fieldwork, especially through divisions under the Administrative Services Bureau.

General Operations Ribbon

Awarded to medics who show consistent activity and dedication to paperwork and fieldwork, especially through divisions under the General Operations Bureau.

Special Operations Ribbon

Awarded to medics who show consistent activity and dedication to paperwork and fieldwork, especially through divisions under the Special Operations Bureau.

Clinical Operations Ribbon

Awarded to medics who show consistent activity and dedication to paperwork and fieldwork, especially through divisions under the Clinical Operations Bureau.

Employee of the Week

Awarded to the Employee of the Week. Although a single heroic incident may be worthy of consideration, special consideration is given to those nominees who have distinguished themselves and their profession throughout the week. This award can be authorized by a Lieutenant and above.

Duty Report Ribbon

Awarded to medics who have gone above and beyond with their duty reports, displaying exemplary determination within their writing.

Field Trained

Awarded to medics upon successful completion of the Field Training Program and becoming a qualified EMT.

Division Awards

Field Trainer

Awarded to medics upon completing at least one of each of the 5 Field Training Phases, as trainer.

Senior Recruiter

Awarded to members of the Recruitment division for their hard work in reaching the rank of Senior Recruiter.

Senior Representative (HR: I)

Awarded to members of the Human Resources: Internal division for their hard work in reaching the rank of Senior Representative.

Senior Representative (HR: LA)

Awarded to members of the Human Resources: Legal Affairs division for their hard work in reaching the rank of Senior Representative.

Senior Representative (PR)

Awarded to members of the Public Relations division for their hard work in reaching the rank of Senior Representative.

Senior Instructor

Awarded to members of the First Aid Licensing division for their hard work in reaching the rank of Senior Instructor.

Senior Firefighter

Awarded to members of the Fire and Rescue division for their hard work in reaching the rank of Firefighter III.

Advanced Diver

Awarded to members of the Marine Rescue division for their hard work in reaching the rank of Advanced Diver.

Lead Technician

Awarded to members of the Laboratory Technology division for their hard work in reaching the rank of Lead Laboratory Technician.

Lead Surgeon

Awarded to members of the Sugical Operations division for their hard work in reaching the rank of Lead Surgeon.

Medals

Pilot Certification Medal

Awarded to medics who received proper Pilot certification in Air Rescue.

Advanced Pilot Medal

Awarded to medics that display exemplary piloting abilities, showing consistently high standards within the division. May be authorized by the Commanding Officer of Air Rescue, or the Chief's Office.

Helmsman Certification Medal

Awarded to medics who received proper Submarine certification in Marine Rescue.

Time in Service

Length of Service Award (I)

Awarded to medics who have served in the department for one year.

Length of Service Award (II)

Awarded to medics who have served in the department for two years.

Length of Service Award (III)

Awarded to medics who have served in the department for three years.

Length of Service Award (IV)

Awarded to medics who have served in the department for four years.
